There are a number of great reasons to visit London.
Some people come on business, some people come for pleasure and some people
come for family reasons. Whatever the reason for visiting, hundreds of
thousands of people come and use the hotels London is famous for, each year.
It is no surprise that so many business visitors come
to London. For hundreds of years, the city has been the most important hub of
international business and finance in Europe. Strong ties to America, the Far East (through Hong Kong) and Europe have always put London in a
unique position among the cities of Europe. Business visitors to the city will
often stay in upmarket establishments close to the financial district referred
to as the City of London. The Sunborn Yacht Hotel and Britannia Hotel have both become popular for having
excellent levels of service while being conveniently located for business. The
need to find cheap London hotels is usually lower for business
visitors than for tourists; large companies can usually afford to pay 150 a
night or more for their staff to be put up comfortably.
One hotel which would be ideal for
business visitors is the Danubius Hotel. Rack rates for rooms start at almost
300, making it one of the more expensive places to stay in town, however you
can expect to find the highest level of luxury there. Fantastic features at
this luxurious establishment include rosewood furniture, specially commissioned deep pile
carpets and stylish marble bathrooms. Of course, not everyone's budget will
stretch to such levels of luxury and there are hundreds of decent quality
hotels and B&B's all over London which are perfectly acceptable for
visitors on a shoestring.
The bulk of visitors to London are drawn by the
city's fantastic reputation as a tourist destination. The Central London hotels are full of people from around
the world who want to see Big Ben, the Tower of London, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. There is much
more to the city than the obvious tourist haunts: a trip to
Richmond or Hampstead offers more diverse and interesting shopping than
you will find along Oxford Street nowadays, as will a walk down the King's Road
in Chelsea. Good, central hotels for travellers on a budget include the Saint Gregory Hotel and Comfort Inn Vauxhall, both of which are within reach of
the West End and the sights of Kensington & Chelsea (including the Science
and Natural History museums and Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea FC).
Visitors to London are advised that crime against
tourists is still an issue in the city, and that it is important to keep
personal belongings such as wallet, mobile phone and handbag safe at all times.
